The first day of sambo competitions in Kazan came to the end. From girls the first gold was taken by Elena Bondareva in weight category of 48 kg.
With the score 4:0 of Yana Kostenko overcame the Ukrainian competitor.
Russian Vasily Karaulov won a bronze medal. In weight category of 52 kg it was outstripped by Beymbet Kanzhanov, the sambo wrestler from Kazakhstan, and Tigran Kirakosyan representing students of Armenia. Denis Davidov benefited one point against Belorussa Alexander Koksha and became the gold medallist of World Summer Universiade. Takahashi Rui Japanese pulled out a victory at Russian Zhanara Kuzanova. Rumyantsev Pavel also replenished a gold box of Russian national team.
